Seminole resident William Donald “Bill” Davisson passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Oklahoma City.
Bill, the son of Donald and Dorothy (Gray) Davisson, was born January 23, 1936 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He graduated with the Seminole High School class of 1954. Bill went on to Oklahoma State University, where he got his degree in engineering. While at OSU, to pass the time and make some extra money, Bill would build and sell music amplifiers. He proudly served in the US Army. Bill had a very diverse and interesting life as an engineer. His first job out of the Army was a communications engineer for NASA, working with them through the Apollo projects, which included putting a man on the moon. He also worked for CilChem as a Mud engineer.
Bill loved doing anything technical, particularly audio tech and computers. He was a videographer before its time. Bill always had a video recorder with him and recorded a great deal of time with and for his children and grandchildren. He had been a member of the Jaycees and was a proud and active member of the Seminole United Methodist Church. On May 23, 2011, Bill married Lola Cornelison at the Seminole United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carolyn; and two sisters, Donna and Peggy.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lola, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Kristi Davisson of Tampa, Florida, and Bill Jr. and Nancy Davisson, of Seminole; four grandchildren, Ben, Angie, Carolyn and Katy; one great grandson, Preston Brown; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Seminole United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lamarla Clark officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
