Walter Wise, Jr., age 59 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away August 29, 2020 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate, and burial will follow at the Douglas-Wise Family Cemetery north of Konawa.  Casket bearers are Vincent Wise, Jacob Wise, Kenny Wise, Dalton Wise, Timothy Cully, and Tommy Howell.

Walter was born August 2, 1961 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Walter Wise, Sr. and Josephine (West) Wise.  He graduated from Konawa High School in 1981, and he went to Gordon Cooper Vo-tech in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he received a welding degree.  He worked for thirteen years for the Seminole Nation Casino.  He became CLEET certified before becoming disabled.  He enjoyed watching OU and Dallas Cowboy football, and he enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and great nephews.

He is survived by two brothers, Vincent and Kenny Wise, both of the home; five sisters, Linda Wise of the home, Mary Barnett of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Maxine Clifford of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, Constance Thlocco of Kansas City, Kansas, and Shiela Hooper of Wolf, Oklahoma; two nephews, Timothy Cully of Vamoosa, Oklahoma, and Jacob Wise of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one niece, Turquoise Columbus of Konawa, Oklahoma; three great nieces; and two great nephews; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter, Sr. and Josephine Wise, and one brother, Leo Wise.
