Tommy Ray Emarthle

Tommy Ray Emarthle, age 85 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, at the Emarthle Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Lucy Durant will officiate.

Tommy was born May 9, 1935 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Markosy Emarthla and Lucy (Frank) Emarthla.  He went to Carter Seminary in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and he attended Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He worked as a heating and air conditioning installation and repairman for Bill Masters in Tulsa.  Tommy loved fishing, hiking, and driving around the countryside.

He is survived by his former spouse, Eleanor Bernice Emarthle of Tulsa; one son, Daniel Emarthle and wife, Susan of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Carol Douglas and husband, Daryl of Lynnwood, Washington; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Martin, Damien, and Daryl, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Markosy and Lucy Emarthla; one daughter, Elizabeth Emarthle; five brothers and three sisters.
