Teresa Diann (Carpenter) Welch

Teresa Diann (Carpenter) Welch, age 63, passed away August 31, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Teresa was a resident of Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was born October 26, 1956 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to parents Albert Carpenter and Grace (LeFlore) Carpenter. She graduated from Coalgate High School. Teresa married Troy Dewayne Welch on May 23, 1974 in Coalgate, Oklahoma.

Teresa worked as a teacher’s aide, librarian and with JOM at Bowlegs Schools.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 46 years, Troy Dewayne Welch, sons; Steven Welch and his wife Tammie of Seminole, Oklahoma and Silas Welch and his wife Lori of Ada, Oklahoma, daughter; Shawn Welch of Holdenville, Oklahoma, brothers; Gerald Carpenter of Ada, Oklahoma, John Carpenter of Ada, Oklahoma and Mike Carpenter of Kansas City, Missouri, sisters; Betty Allen and her husband Odie of Vinita, Oklahoma, Lorraine Scott of Ada, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Gibson and her husband Jerry of Ottawa, Illinois and Joann Hollingsworth of McAlester, Oklahoma and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; Alan Carpenter, sisters; Norma Garcia and Alberta (Lynn) Humphrey and great grandparents; Frank and Vina Carpenter.

Teresa’s funeral service will at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2020 at the First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs, Oklahoma with Roy Robertson officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
