Teresa Jean Harper

Teresa Jean Harper, age 64, passed away June 22, 2020 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born August 6, 1955 in Seminole to parents Merle Harper and Barbara Ann (Majors) Colvin. She grew up in Seminole and Shawnee areas and attended Abiding Grace Tabernacle in Shawnee. She was a resident of Avonlea Cottage in Seminole.

Teresa attended Faith 7 Activity Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Her job there was to fill plastic balls for vending machines. She enjoyed painting her fingernails, crocheting, shopping and wearing diamond rings. She once met Tex Ritter and danced with him. She loved Christmastime and getting to sit on Santa’s lap.

Teresa is survived by her mother Barbara Colvin of Avonlea Cottage in Seminole. She was preceded in death by her father; Merle Harper, her brother; Keith Harper and her step-father; Clayton Colvin.

Graveside services for Teresa will be at 10:30, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole. Tiffany Nagel-Monroe, pastor of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Paul Gregg will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Abiding Grace Tabernacle, 116 W. Forrest Street, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801, St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 301 N. Beard, Shawnee, Oklahoma or Breast Cancer Research.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
