Tara Chiffon “Coach T” Winrow, 47, was called home to be with God on November 15, 2022. She was born on November 23, 1974, in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was the second born child of Ginger Winrow. She was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.
“Coach T” as she was known, graduated from Seminole High School in 1993. She was a starter and member of the Seminole Chieftain’s Girls 91-92 state tournament basketball team (Coached by the amazing Sibbya Phillips). Tara was a true Chieftain fan at heart. Well after her, her son’s and her nephew’s graduation she continued to support Chieftain athletics. She could be heard yelling from the football and basketball stands at every game and everyone in attendance could definitely “HEAR” Tara Winrow (Coach T). Tara was also a 1995 graduate of Connors State College (Warner, Oklahoma) where she received her Associates degree.
For the last seven years, Tara has been employed at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC) in Tecumseh, OK. She represented her title well, Resident Care Specialist. To the residents she was known as “Mama-T”. She made COJC feel like home to every young man that came through the doors. “Mama T” was a nickname given by a young man who felt that she was a mother to him. To this day, it is said that she loved, cared for and fought for them like a mother. She loved each young man individually with her whole heart and that showed day to day with holiday decorations, daily inspirational quotes, constant advice, love and always doing everything to make them feel loved, safe and secure.
Tara had the purest heart. She always put others before herself. She was a social butterfly and when she loved, she loved hard. She was loved by many and she was very passionate about what she did. She was very passionate about football. She wanted each player to succeed on and off the field. If you have ever crossed paths with her, then YOU know your life will not ever be the same.
Tara was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Beulah Winrow; her grandparents, Roy and Doretha Winrow; aunts, Patricia Vanessa Washington and Johnnie Fox; brother LaRome “L.A.” Winrow and father of her three children, Jaeson Baker (her first true love).
Tara leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Ginger Winrow; brother, Jamaal Walker; father, Laurence Daniels (Dianne); half-sisters, Khalia Kolodzi (Michael), Keoni Carew, Abigail Daniels; daughter, Ausha Baker (Karltrell Henderson), Ashanti Baker (Lamanuel Singleton); son, Aerrington Baker (A.S.B.X3); granddaughters, (the Singleton girls) Layana and Laylah Singleton (the twins), Lyrica Singleton (Expected march 2023); cousins, Ebony Harris (sister at heart/basketball Road dog), Tanisha Washington, Lance Washington, Shelan Young, Jaleesa Gilbert and Nia Winrow; nephews, Cepado Wilkins, Jr., Donovan Jennings, Noah McGregor-Kolodzi, Nathaniel Kolodzi and Aiden Carew; niece, Nevaeh Jennings; best friends, Denise Johnson (Tijah Johnson- Goddaughter), Toyia Buford, Crystal McClure; Special Friend, Caitlyn Huckabaa; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends that will always have Tara in their hearts.
