Rocky Leray Larney, Sr.

Rocky Leray Larney, Sr., age 65, passed away on June 16, 2020 at his home in McLoud, Oklahoma. He was born June 25, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents Lee Larney and Geneva Maxine (Brown) Larney. He was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

Rocky worked as a construction inspector for the government agency, Oklahoma Environmental Health. He had worked there for 37 years until his retirement.

Rocky is survived by his sons; Curtis and Kenia Larney of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Rocky Larney, Jr. of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Aaron Larney of Bethel, Oklahoma and Takota Larney of McLoud, Oklahoma, his daughters; Susan and Dewayne Ahhaitty of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Mandy and Andrew Ellis of Tecumseh, Oklahoma and Santana Larney of McLoud, Oklahoma, brothers; Alan Larney of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Walter and Rebecca Larney of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Roy and Colleen Larney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sisters; Harriet and Dennis Larney of Moore, Oklahoma, Billie Grass of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Nevalee Deere of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Lonita Stewart of Talihina, Oklahoma, seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Darrell Larney, his sisters; Suzanne Colungo and Patricia Kent-Larney.

Wake services will be Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Seminole Hitchitee Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2020 at Seminole Hitchitee Methodist Church with Rick Deer officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Poncho Ponce, Eric Washington, Algene Washington, Andrew Ellis, Darren Shields and Brent Shields. Honorary bearers will be Ty Shields, Christian Ellis, Austin Ellis, Dewayne Ahhaitty, Dwight Greenfield, Michael Bender and Corey Chesnut.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
