Roberta "Bertie" Jean (Tiger) Coon

Roberta Jean “Bertie” Coon, 66, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born April 19, 1954 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to parents William E. Tiger and Fannie Brown.

Bertie graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1972 and went on to own her own beauty shop, “Berties Cut & Curl in Konawa, Oklahoma. She enjoyed sitting around with her family and watching movies for days. She is going to be greatly missed!

Bertie is survived by her son Chris Bruce and his wife Dacia of Seminole, Oklahoma, her daughter; Joyce Melton of Stilwell, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Evan, Syler and Corbin Bruce and Pheden, Tristen and Lucy Johnson, her sisters; Joyce Brennan, Norma Tiger, Billie Tiger, Karen Tiger, Cynthia Tiger and one brother; Chiefy Tiger. She was preceded in death by her parents Fannie Brown and William E. Tiger, grandparents; Clarence Yahlane Brown and Wattie Bigpond Brown and Sillar and John Lynch Tiger and brother; John William Tiger.

Visitation services for Bertie will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. The family is asking everyone who attends the visitation to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
