Richard Allen Hare , age 67 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 11, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma.

A memorial service at Vamoosa Baptist Church of Konawa is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at 6:00 p.m., and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Richard was born July 12, 1956 in Tampa Florida to Fred Walbert Hare and Joyce Elaine (Moyer) Hare Benzenhafer.  He was the retired owner and operator of AI America’s Choice Fire & Safety Equipment Company in Oklahoma City.  He also worked as a school bus driver for Oklahoma City, and he owned the Rewind Vintage Retro Store in Oklahoma City.  Richard was the former pastor of Penn Ave. Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, and he was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church of Konawa.  He married Cora Marie Winans December 23, 1982 in Tampa, Floria.  Richard liked painting, telling people about Jesus, and telling people that they are loved.  And, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Hare of the home; four sons, Kendrick Hare and wife, Tiffany of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Christopher Hare of Oklahoma City, Izaac Hare of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Michael Hare of Tampa, Florida; three daughters, Stacy Brown and husband, Jason of Brandon, Florida, Sherrya Jones and husband, Devan of Seminole, and Bessie Douglas and husband, Ron of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six brothers, Fred Hegemeier of Germany, Fred Hare of Riverview, Florida, Michael Hare of Georgia, Brian Hare of Maryland, Roger Hare of Alabama, and David Hare of Florida; four sisters, Sue Hare of Georgia, Vicki Hare of Indianapolis, Lisa Hare of Georgia, and Fredia Hare of Georgia; sixteen grandchildren, Destiny Hare, Brianna Brown, Kendrick Hare, Jr., Hunter Hare, Isabella Hare, Nevaeh Hare, Serenity Jones, Riley Hare, Leeyah Jones, Haven Jones, Ilya Earwin-Douglas, Olivia Jones, Jesse Adkisson, and Judah Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jimmy Hare; and one sister, April Eddenfield.
