Quennion Sharver Obituary

Quennion David "Dave" Sharver, age 67 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, left this world at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma, on March 21, 2023, the day of the funeral of Virginia, his wife of forty-five years who preceded him in death by four days.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2023 at First Baptist Church of St. Louis, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Glenn Peck will officiate, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.  Casket bearers are Jerry Branscum, Mark Reeves, Frankie Walker, Donnie Sneed, Timmy Sanders, and Steve Nail.  Honorary bearers are Dennis Isaacs, Milo Fox II, Ian Isaacs, Dwayne Pierson, Vincent Wise, Billy Coffin, Larry Jesse, and Tony Sanders.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26th at the funeral home.

Dave was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on September 24, 1955 to Quennion Fletcher Sharver and Rena Ruth Adams Sharver. After his Konawa High School graduation in 1973, he attended Seminole Junior College in Seminole, Oklahoma, and Gordon Cooper Vocational Technical School in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he completed requirements for his certification in Diesel Mechanics.
On January 16, 1978, he married Virginia Mae Sanderson at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Adams, in Summers Chapel, near Konawa, Oklahoma. This union brought to them a daughter, Jamie Lynn Sharver, a son, David "LeAllen" Sharver, and Dave also gained a stepson, Billy Don Sanderson, and step-grandson, Dylan.  Dave loved his grandkids, Cierra Nicole, Clayton Chaz, Cameron LeAllen, and had particular pride in his eldest granddaughter, Aaliyah, an aspiring future physician attending the University of Oklahoma.  Dave grew up playing Southern Gospel music across the state of Oklahoma with his family, The Sharver Family Gospel Singers. By age 12, his bass guitar mesmerized listeners, and he could bring any crowd to life with those "hot, holy licks."   Dave was an accomplished pianist, as well, and he recorded several CDs on his keyboard for pure enjoyment.  Dave dabbled in country music in his early years and played with notorieties such as Merle Haggard.  He always had a band beginning in highschool and played some rock and roll at local parties and various functions. Dave loved music and spent most of the last twenty years of his life playing bass guitar with his sister on piano at the First Baptist Church in St. Louis, Oklahoma, where he was a member.

Those who are left to treasure their time and memories of David Sharver include his daughter and son, Jamie and LeAllen, his stepson and step-grandson, Billy Don and Dylan Sanderson, his four grandkids, Cierra, Clayton, Cameron, and Aaliyah, and his sister, Melody Sharver, all of the Summers Chapel Community near Konawa.  Survivors also include four brothers-in-law, Milo Fox II, Bobby Sanderson, Larry Jesse, and Edmond Fox; three sisters-in-law, Katie Isaacs, Shirley Wagner, and Brenda Dailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends whom he dearly loved and cherished.

Preceding him in death are his parents and grandparents.
