Preston Shavar McGregor

Preston Shavar McGregor, Wewoka resident, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Shavar was born on October 23, 1981, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Preston Hayward Eugene McGregor and Ella Mae Gordon.  He was a 2001 graduate of Bowlegs High School.

Shavar married Ashley Marie Beavers on August 3, 2006 at Open Arms of Faith Church in Shawnee, OK.  He enjoyed cooking, softball, fishing, football, track, baseball and basketball.  He coached the Seminole Lady Bulldogs softball team.    Shavar was a caring and outspoken person.  He loved his wife and children with all his heart. He loved being a kid with his children and coaching softball for his daughters and teammates.  Shavar’s love spread for his church family, softball family, the elderly at his job and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers and family.  Shavar was a man of many names.

Shavar is survived by his wife, Ashley Marie (Beavers) McGregor; father, Preston Hayward Eugene McGregor and wife, Susie; mother, Ella Mae Gordon; sons, Preston Shavar Gavin McGregor and Phillip Shavar OnTario McGregor of Wewoka, OK; nephew whom he raised as his own, Marcus Gordon of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Zeaonna O’Zanae McGregor and ZO’Ryhanna Zychell McGregor of Wewoka, OK; nieces whom he raised as his own, Isabel Runyon of Enid, OK and MoTisha Beavers of Wewoka, OK;  brothers, Benjamin Gordon, Tony Gordon and Anthony and spouse, Lureena Louie and many other family and friends.

Shavar was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Rhonda; brothers, Randale and Jason; stepmom, Malanie and his nephew whom he raised as his own, Nick Ross.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Lord’s Community Church in Seminole, OK with Jimmy and Nita Moreland officiating.  Cremation will follow.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
