Michael (Mickey) Lay Obituary

Seminole resident, Michael Allen Lay, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home.

Mickey, the son of Hale and Velma (Aller) Lay, was born August 5, 1938, in Oklahoma City.  Michael proudly served with the US Marine Corp, during the Vietnam War.  On January 8, 2010, he married Kathey Hill, at his home.  He was an avid golfer and fan, he was also a pilot, he began flying at the age of 17 during his senior year in high school.  Mickey became the youngest pilot flying in Tulsa at that time.  Mickey had a huge heart and during his years of service with Enerfin, buying right-of-way easements, he got to know many people in this area.  He believed in manners and respect toward everyone he was around and expected it in return.  His loss is that of kindness in real life and spirit.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.  He met the love of his life in 2010 and spent 14 beautiful years of togetherness before gaining his wings.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Kathey Hill of the home; stepson, Rick (Hopper) Williams, of Bowlegs; stepdaughter, Terri Stastny, of Seminole; and a grandson, Nathan Stastny; along with many other family members and friends.

No services are scheduled for Mickey.  Any condolences can be relayed to his wife and family at 320 W Strother, Seminole or by calling Kathey at (405) 380-6761.  Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
