Michael Eugene Johnson, Sr.

Michael Eugene Johnson, Sr., age 72, passed away July 18, 2020 at his home in Bowlegs, Oklahoma. He was born September 26, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to parents Leonard William Johnson and Lorene (Morefield) Johnson. He was a high school graduate. He married Neoma Joyce Weaver on November 3, 1969 in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 50 years and enjoyed a beautiful life together.

He worked as a code inspector. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching people eat. He had a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren too numerous to mention, but he loved and enjoyed each one of them. He was a very strong, generous and considerate man. He treated people well and they respected him. He loved being with his family and he was everything to them.  

Michael is survived by his wife of 50 years, Neoma Johnson of the home, sons; Michael Johnson, Jr. and his wife Nancy, Robert Johnson and his wife Sarah, John Johnson and Tim Hale, daughters; Teresa Johnson and Amanda Renfro. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher Dwayene Johnson.

Funeral Services for Michael will be at 12 Noon, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Joseph P. Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma. There will not be a reception following the service.

Casket bearers will be Michael Johnson, Jr., Robert Allen Johnson, Brian Johnson, Corey Johnson, Jon-Michael Johnson and Christopher Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Kevin Sloan and Trenton Ware.
