Obituary

Marvin Ray Briggs, Jr., age 75 and a former resident of Seminole County, passed away April 7, 2023 at Ballard Nursing Center in Ada, Oklahoma.

A graveside memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Vamoosa Cemetery, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Linda Briggs will officiate.

Marvin was born October 17, 1947 in Overton, Texas to Marvin Ray Briggs and Marie (Moore) Douglas.  After graduation, he worked in maintenance for an auto parts shop.  Marvin loved to go hunting and fishing.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Bastible of Stonewall, Oklahoma, Leatessha Countryman of Ada, Oklahoma, and Dalena Mattson of Searcy, Arkansas; two brothers, Denny Briggs and Jerry Moore, both of Texas; one sister, Pat Douglas of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Marvin Ray Briggs, III; and one brother, Tommy Briggs.
