Obituary

Joseph Winston Elmore, Seminole resident, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2020.

Joe was born to Gerald Winston and Terleen (Dockery) Elmore on December 22, 1951.  He lived some of his life in Holdenville, Oklahoma, then moved to Seminole County.  Joe graduated from Varnum High School and remained a huge Whippet fan.  He played baseball at Seminole Jr. College in 1971 and 1972.  He was an avid OU fan.  Joe was a dry cleaner at Seminole Cleaners, a job he enjoyed very much.

Joe liked to hunt, fish, camp and play with kids and grandkids.  He also liked to make things and tinker in his shop.  Joe is a member of Highway Baptist Church.  He went to camp a few years and helped cook at times.  He loved his church family dearly.

Joe married Connie Jean Baker in 1979.  They lived in Seminole.  He has 6 children:  daughters, Amy and Clint Stepp of Ada, OK; Sarah and Brandon Biffle; Kirby and Chad Richards of Seminole, OK; Lori Garr of Broken Arrow, OK; sons, Patrick and Hannah Elmore of Noble, OK and Gordon Elmore and his wife Amanda of Seminole, OK.

He has 17 grandchildren that loved their PaPa: Mason Stepp, Brooklyn and Brendan Biffle, Austin, Payton, Leland and Eli Elmore, Lilli and Aulton Garr, Malachi, Carley, Micah and Laikyn Richards, Gavin and Trenton Hines, Riot and Easton Elmore.

He did not have siblings but was kind of adopted by his in-laws and considered them family:  Larry and Teresa Baker, Karrie and Kelley Joplin, Carla and Mickey Sebourn.

He was raised with lots of aunts and uncles and cousins that he cherished.  They shared dinners, reunions, swimming and love with Grandma and Grandpa Elmore.  He also enjoyed his Grandma and Grandpa Dockery.  He loved his family and knew he was loved.

Joe cherished all his friends in which he had many.  He would go to a ballgame, meet a stranger and become good friends with them.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents Floy and Floyd Elmore, Lelan and Terral Dockery; his parents, Terleen and Gerald Elmore, two children, Jimmy Joe Elmore and Gus LeAnder Elmore; aunts and uncles and cousins he loved dearly.
