John Lewis Daniels

John Lewis Daniels, 85, longtime McLoud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on, Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John was born on April 25, 1937 in Amarillo, Texas, to parents Lucile (Cargill) Daniels and Frank J. Daniels.

John married Lee Ella Daniels on May 29, 1962 and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

John started working at the age of 12 to help his mother support their family. His strong work ethic led him to be employed at the United States Postal Service, where he retired from. He also retired from Mid-Del Schools as a teacher assistant for special needs children and he also worked for 20+ years at Safeway Grocery Store as a weekend manager. John also served many years as a certified volunteer for Special Olympics.

John enjoyed hosting family reunions, especially cooking for the whole family, usually a 150 or more.

John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lee Ella Daniels of the home , his children; Johnny Daniels, David Daniels, Russell Daniels, Sherri Le Blonde, Arpoika and Holli Daniels and Lance Daniels, his grandkids; Brandon and Amber Willilford, Torrey Daniels, Stacey and Daniel Pierce, Alicia and Martin Robles, David and Elizabeth Daniels, Chris Daniels, Britton and Cara Daniels, Haylee and Kody Kerley, Preston Daniels, Hayden Harjo, Taylor Harjo, Alancea Star Daniels and Whisperen Sky Daniels, his great grandkids; Jordan, Dillon and Dalyn Pierce, Sharee Williford, Gaije Hendrix, Kali Persinger ,Lucy Robles, Tilly Robles, Beau Daniels Kohen Kerley and Jaylani Adams. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Laura Trout.

Memorial services to celebrate John’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Seminole Church of Christ at 12040 N. Highway 99 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Arpoika Daniels and Tim Smith will officiate the service.

Cremation and memorial service are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
