Jimmie Louis Little

Wewoka resident Jimmie Louis Little passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Seminole at the age of 81.

Jimmie, the son of Marvin and Cecil Little, was born March 28, 1941, in Wewoka.  After graduating from Wewoka High School, Jimmie continued his education and received his bachelor’s degree in English from East Central University.  Jimmie took that education and shared it around the world, teaching English in Mexico, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.  While in Saudi Arabia he met Saba Solomon; he and Saba married on September 27, 1999, in Texas.  Jimmie continued his travels with Saba at his side, including memorable trips to Egypt and Africa.  After retirement, Jimmie taught English at the Wewoka Middle School, Seminole State College and Oklahoma Baptist University.  Jimmie was also an avid OU football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Roger Little.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 23 years, Saba, of the home; his daughter, Selam Little; sister-in-law, Beth Little; niece, Jennifer Little; nephew, Jeremy Little; and other family and friends.

Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
