Imogene Fish, Seminole resident, passed away at her home, on Sunday, January 9, 2022, after a long battle with breast cancer, at the age of 94.  Imogene was born on October 1, 1927 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Frank and V.C. Lillian (Pope) Griffin.  She worked as a presser in two clothing factories.  She was also a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.

Imogene married Robert Borden Fish Jr. on Valentine’s Day in 1947 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and enjoyed their 69 years of marriage.  Robert preceded her in death on August 27, 2016.  Imogene was always a very energetic and active person.  She was a homeroom mother for her children and leader of her daughter’s Blue Bird and campfire groups.  Imogene loved sewing and made many quilts, pillows and other beautiful things.  She enjoyed arts and crafts.  Even into her retirement years she stayed really active.  She was a member of FCE (Family Community Education) for 55 years.  Imogene was also a member of Gathering of the Elders, Older American Program and Queen Mother of the Red Hat Club.  She also took Indian flute lessons.  She and Robert used to take exercise classes.

Imogene’s daughter, Christine, treasured the time she got to care for her in her own home, providing for her daily needs since Robert’s passing in 2016.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Imogene’s nephew, Richard Fifield for the compassionate care he provided. Imogene and her granddaughter, Krystle shared a significant and very special bond. Imogene will be truly missed but will be in our hearts forever.   A special thank you goes out to Joeann Pulliam for all she did for Imogene.
