September 11, 1956 — June 22, 2021

Konawa Funeral Home

Husband and wife, Gary Alvin Coffin and Cindy Lou (Dennison) Coffin , ages 64 and 62, passed away just two days apart.  Gary passed away at his home in Konawa, Oklahoma under the care of Kindful Hospice on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, and Cindy passed away at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City on Thursday, June 24, 2021.

A funeral service is scheduled for both Gary and Cindy at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.  Rev. Kevin Duck will officiate.

Gary was born September 11, 1956 in Denison, Texas to Haskell M. Coffin and Mary E. (Johnson) Coffin. He married Cindy Lou Dennison on December 30, 1983 in Oklahoma City. He was the Shop Manager at Sooner Scale in Konawa for twenty-two years. After his career at Sooner Scale, Gary joined the Moore Sonic family to work alongside his wife Cindy for several years.  Gary was a craftsman; over the years he built various pieces of furniture and home décor.  He took pride in the work he did remodeling his and Cindy’s home.  He designed and built gifts, and helped family with any and all projects. Gary also had a passion for rock music. His motto was, “It’s meant to be felt, not heard.”

Cindy was born June 13, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama to Henry Dennison and Victoria Janice (Ketcherside) Dennison.  She worked for the Moore Sonic Group for twenty-six years, serving as a District Manager for the company for over a decade. She was a leader within the Moore Group and played a key role in the success of the group over the years.  She lived and breathed Sonic; it was her true passion. She also loved going to the casinos with her husband, Gary.

Gary and Cindy loved their family and friends immensely. Their home was always open, and they were “second parents” to so many. They loved big family gatherings and enjoyed reminiscing on the memories made with their large families. At Gary and Cindy’s house, everyone was welcome.

Gary and Cindy are survived by two sons, Billy Coffin, his children Henry and Riley, and his girlfriend, Carlee of Konawa; Chris Coffin and wife, Amanda of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and their daughters, Makenna and Allie; one daughter, Stacey Roe and husband, Michael of Konawa, and their daughters Trinity, Serenity, and Destiny.

Gary is also survived by two brothers, Randy Coffin of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Coffin of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Donna Tutton of Choctaw, and Sue Walker, also of Choctaw.

Gary and Cindy were preceded in death by their parents; one son, Gerald Lynch; Cindy’s sister, Janice Kay Lynch; and one niece, Donna Ross.
