Dr. Joseph Edward Wojciechowski III, Earlsboro resident, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Dr. Joe was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, to Joseph Stanley Edward  Wojciechowski II and Francis (Czech) Wojciechowski, on February 22, 1974.

Dr. Joe was raised in Shamokin, PA until his mother became ill.  At approximately 5 years old, he went to live with LeRoy and Elsie Freed where he was adopted into their family as one of their own children.  He grew up in Shamokin and Sunbury, PA and later lived in various states for educational purposes.  He resided in Oklahoma for the past 14 years.

Dr. Joe raised hogs and worked in a chair shop until he taught school at Newville, PA for a year.  At the end of the school year he married Karen Stoltzfus of Lititz, PA. Dr. Joe and Karen celebrated 25 years of marriage last year while visiting Alaska.  Dr. Joe studied for three years at Liberty University and received a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.  Dr. Joe opened a chiropractic office in Prague, OK and Shawnee, OK after his graduation on February 23, 2007.   In the fall of 2017 Dr. Joe moved his Shawnee office location to a very beautiful and secluded office setting at Earlsboro, OK that he and his family had built.  He loved people and served his patients and community to the best of his ability for 13 ½ years.  Dr. Joe taught Sunday school and served on various volunteer fire departments in various states where he lived.  He loved music immensely.  Dr. Joe also enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing.  He took great joy in learning and the mental stimulation that produced.  He loved people and if he needed to go somewhere alone he would call a friend to ride along.

Dr. Joe is survived by his wife, Karen L. Wojciechowski; three sons, Travis D., Joseph E. and Galen C. Wojciechowski; daughter, Carol M. Wojciechowski; adopted father, LeRoy Freed; two brothers, Marlin Freed and Daniel Freed; two sisters, Regina Weaver and Joy Lauver and many other family and friends.

Dr. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his adopted mother Elsie Freed.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Travis D. Wojciechowski, Joseph E. Wojciechowski, Galen C. Wojciechowski, Daniel Lauver, Wesley Lauver and Devin Fleagle.

Those serving as honorary casket bearers will be Albert Wojciechowski, Ernest Eshbach, Dwight Eshbach, Dale Lehman, Daryl Lehman, Dennis Lehman, Steve Zook, Mark Haldeman and Daniel Mack.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m., at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

The family also welcomes the opportunity to greet friends, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 beginning at 9:00a.m., before the start of the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Sharon Baptist Church at 19002 S. Gordon Cooper Dr., Shawnee, OK, with Brother Charlie Jamison officiating.  Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
