Deborah "Debbie" Lynn (King) Lemons

November 24, 1957 — March 17, 2024

Seminole

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Lemons, life-long Seminole resident, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the age of 66.   Debbie was born on November 24, 1957 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Bobby Joe King and Shirlee (Cauthron) King.

A member of the Seminole High School class of 1976, Debbie proudly graduated from East Central University with her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and dedicated her career to both child welfare and helping others struggling with mental illness and addiction. Debbie had an incredible memory and served as our personal encyclopedia of Seminole.  She could remember every major (and often ‘minor’ event too) that occurred in Seminole during her lifetime!  If you or your family lived in Seminole, she knew you or someone you knew.  There was never more than two degrees of separation between you and Debbie!

In addition to her family and friends, Debbie loved her dogs, Mickey and Molly, who she is, no doubt, overjoyed to be with.  She obtained Molly from the Seminole Humane Society.  Because of the joy her fur babies gave her, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation as a memorial contribution for Debbie to the Seminole Humane Society https://seminolehumanesociety.com/donations/.

Debbie is survived by her father, Bobby Joe King; son, Steve Lemons (Stephanie); daughter, Kimberly Dockery (Jennifer Golden); granddaughter, Ashlyn Lemons; grandson, Anthony Lemons (Destiny); and two great grandchildren, Scout and Parker Lemons; sisters, Lisa Jacobson and Julie Bender; several aunts and numerous cousins.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Shirlee King; paternal grandparents, Ted and Ann King and maternal grandmother, Ionia Cauthron.  All were long-time Seminole residents.

A Celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at New Life Church in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating, followed by a reception.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
