Curtis Ernest Baird, Jr. , age 65 years, eleven months, and three days, and a resident of Macomb, Oklahoma passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home.

At Ernie’s request, no service is planned, and arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.

Ernie was born on June 4, 1955 in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Curtis Ernest and Helen Jewel (O’Neal) Baird.  Ernie grew up attending school at Davis, Oklahoma, and graduated from Asher High School in 1973.  After high school, he worked for several years in the oilfield.  Then, he traveled the United States for several companies doing asbestos removal.  Ernie finished his work career with Wolverine Tube in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He was a country boy that loved his animals, his race horses, the Asher Indians, and he was an avid OU fan.

Ernie is survived by two sons, Brian Bruno of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Michael Baird and fiancé, Katelyn Claborn of Ada, Oklahoma; two sisters, Brenda Warren and husband, Johnny of Hennepin, Oklahoma, and Peggy Nail and husband, Ronny of Asher, Oklahoma; two nieces, Tabatha Doss and husband, Jeff of Hennepin, Oklahoma, and Nicki Mills and husband, Shane of Prague, Oklahoma; one nephew, Shane Nail and wife, Lanita of Portland, Oregon; and many other family, friends, and good neighbors.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Helen Baird; one son, Jimmy Baird; and two brothers, James David and Ralph Eugene Baird.
