Clara Nation Lawyer, 93, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away peacefully, Friday September 24, 2021, in Seminole. Clara was born October 13, 1927, to Ralph McConel and Lucy Elizabeth Morris in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was welcomed home by her four brothers, McConel, Jay, S.T. and Ralph. The family eventually moved to Stuart, Oklahoma where she met Creston Lawyer.
Creston and Clara were married February 8, 1946, and shortly after that they moved to Seminole where they raised their family. As a faithful follower of Christ, she gave her time as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir, often singing solos and volunteering in many other capacities. Clara was a member of the Eastern Star and happily volunteered as a Pink Lady at Seminole Municipal Hospital.
Above all she cherished her home, family and friends. Clara will be deeply missed by her son Larry Lawyer and his wife Brenda of Leonard, Texas, her daughter Donna Ratliff and her husband Jim of Norman, Oklahoma, her grandchildren; Britt Willis and his wife Shona of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jason Willis and his wife Kristi of Edmond, Oklahoma, Lindsay Lawyer and her husband Mark of Wales, UK, John Lawyer and his wife Stacie of Leonard, Texas, great grandchildren Kolby, Kylie, Konner and Karson Willis and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Creston Lawyer and her daughter Ronna.
Viewing for Clara will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2021, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Due to the Covid19 virus, only immediate family will celebrate her life at a graveside service on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
