Obituary

Charles David Burroughs, Seminole resident, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 in Prague, at the age of 71.  David was born on June 8, 1952 in Oklahoma City to Trannan Charles Burroughs and Hartense (Orton) Burroughs. He served in the United States Marines.  David married Cecelia Watson in 1976 in Oklahoma City.

David worked as a plant manager for Bar S and Sigma.  He was good to the employees that worked with him.  He was a smart man and a very hard worker.  He loved his family and the love of his life, Cecelia and his daughters. His girls would say he was the best dad they could ever ask for.  He enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, bowling and golf.  He is said to have made the most amazing cinnamon rolls.  David adored animals including the late Yoshi, Charlie and Maggie, his beloved Shih-Tzus.  He will be dearly missed by all.

David is survived by his wife, Cecelia Burroughs; four daughters, Shawn Michelle Burroughs, Sandra Ouellette, Lori Peranteaux and husband, Brian and Stephanie Preheim and husband, Chet; six grandchildren, Robyn, Robert, Brittany, Rachel, Autumn and Austin; seven great grandchildren; two great great granchildren; sister, Trana Dunn; two nephews, Joseph and Jake Dunn; niece, Lisa Dunn and many other family and friends. 

David was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, G.Sgt. Brian Ouellette.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
