Catherine McCown Obituary

Jesus said, “in my Father’s house are many mansions…”. Today, one of those mansions has a new resident, Catherine P. (Miller) McCown. Catherine was born in Wendover, Utah on September 16, 1934 to David Dyett Miller and Dorothy (Buck) Miller. She entered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the age of 85.

As a young girl, Catherine moved with her family to King Hill, Idaho and attended school in Glenn’s Ferry, Idaho. In the Spring of 1952, she met the love of her life, Sgt. Donald K. During her early working years, Catherine managed a Dollar General Store, owned a café and managed the business affairs for McCown Refrigeration Company in Seminole, Oklahoma. During the final years of their life together, Catherine was proud to be known by the title of “Pastor’s Wife”.

Shortly after the unexpected passing of her husband, Catherine moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Roy Dunagan. They shared a home and life together for the last 33 years of her life. Catherine was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church. To all who knew her, she was known as a quiet woman with an unwavering faith. Catherine’s greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Hart; grandson, Robert (Bobby) Leck; son-in-law, Walter (Bud) Leck; parents, David and Dorothy Miller; seven brothers, David, Wallace, John, Robert, William, Morris and Joe; five sisters, Dorothy May Stevenson, Mary Lou Plew, Grace Miller, Doris Dupuis and Martha Belcher.
