Bryan Timothy Powell

Bryan Timothy Powell, age 47, passed away September 28, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bryan was born on December 28, 1972 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Samuel Powell and Virginia (Yahola) Powell. Bryan grew up in Wewoka, but spent most of his life in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Creek and Seminole Tribes of Oklahoma. He worked for Legacy Drilling as a derrick and floor hand.

He belonged to the Ocese band and was a firefighter for the Seminole Nation Forestry Department. He worked on cars, enjoyed watching OU football, loved music, long drives, the sound of motorcycles and watching GoldRush and Alaskan Bush People on television. He liked spending time with his family and grandchildren and helping others. He always kept up with the accomplishments of his nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish Bryan’s memory are his fiance’ Jayna McGeisey, his sons; Jontay and Jaxsen and his daughters; Krystan and Tracey, all of Seminole, Oklahoma, his brother; Jeff Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma, his sisters; Sandra Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma, Kim Powell of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Michelle Powell of Chandler, Oklahoma and his grandchildren; Carlos, Sofia, Jasmeen and Memphis, Santillan-Powell, Carmen Tebe, Victoria Ballard and another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jamie Powell, sister; Tresa Powell and grandson; Trason Tebe.

The wake service for Bryan will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Thlocco and Kevin Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Yeager Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Chuy Lopez, Timothy Powell, Jon Maples, Tyler Powell, Kyron Ballard and Toby Hulbutta. Honorary bearers will be Jeff Powell and Bryan's great nephews, cousins and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
