Brenda Lee Harjo

Brenda Lee “Sweetie” Harjo, Oklahoma City resident, entered into Heaven on Friday, November 12, 2021, at her home, at the age of 57.  Sweetie was born on May 31, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Richard and Elizabeth (Deer) Harjo.

Sweetie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother to her family.  She was known by everyone by “Sweetie”.   She was the quiet one in the family and always made sure the house was clean.  She trusted Jesus Christ as her savior when she was 22 years old.  Sweetie will be missed by her entire family.

Sweetie is survived by her children, Michele Harjo, Sharon DeLoera and Jason Harjo; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Birdie and Grace; four brothers, Sandy, Richard, Bobby and Bill; aunt, Naomi Jacobs; uncle, Luther Harjo; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Sweetie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie; infant son, Joseph and two nephews, Christian and Kutcha.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Jason Harjo Jr., Jason Harjo, Tyler Hockenberry, Robert Johnson, Jonathan Johnson and Michael Harjo.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandy Harjo officiating.  Burial will follow at Snake Creek Cemetery.
