Bobby "Bob" Chaffin Obituary

Moore resident, Bobby Allen Chaffin, formerly of Seminole, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Norman, at the age of 70.

Bob, the son of Bobby Gene and Helen (Duvall) Chaffin, was born September 14, 1953, in Seminole.  He graduated from Seminole High School, with the class of 1971.  He attended Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (Randall University), earning his bachelor’s degree.  On August 6, 1988, he married Sue Mullins, in Norman.  Bob spent his career in the food service industry.  Over the years he worked at his alma mater, Hillsdale College, as well as the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Veteran’s Center in Norman.  He enjoyed music and was involved in the music ministries of the Purcell FWB Church, CrossPointe Church, and Seminole FWB Church.  Bob was an excellent cook/baker; his beautiful cakes were often requested for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his favorite thing to do was to travel with his wife, Sue.  Whether it was a day trip to Sulphur, or to the place they enjoyed together in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, or a multiple state month-long road trip, Bob loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sue Chaffin, of Moore; a brother, Randy Chaffin, his wife Kim of Seminole, and their daughters, Amanda Adcock, and Cassie Porter, along with many other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that friends make a memorial contribution to Randall University in Moore.

Memorial services will be observed in Norman, Saturday, February 10, at 10:00 A.M. at CrossPointe Church, with Joe Grizzle officiating.  For Bob’s friends and family in the Seminole area, a memorial service will be in Seminole, Saturday, February 10, at 2:00 P.M. at the Seminole Free Will Baptist Church, with Bill Adcock officiating.  Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
