Billy Charles Taylor, age 93 and life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away January 20, 2023 at Ada Care Center in Ada, Oklahoma.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate, and casket bearers are Brad Culver, Beech Prigmore, Jaxon Hansen, and Cord McClure. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22nd at the funeral home.
Bill was born November 1, 1929 in Konawa to Arch Taylor and Minnie (Geuin) Rains. He graduated from Konawa High School, and he married Joyce Ann Thomas on July 23, 1950 in Konawa. He worked as a Tool Pusher for Johnson and Bates Drilling Company. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, and he loved fishing and gardening. He was also a very good handyman.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joyce Taylor of the home; two daughters, Dena Taylor-Culver and husband, Brad of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Phyllis McClure and husband, Jack of Asher, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Shana, Beech, Jr., Cord, Tara, and Melissa; thirteen great grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha, Sadie, Beech, III, Jacob, Jacie, Zoe, Ryann, Sophia, Savanna, Jaxon, Ali, and Reece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene and Jack Taylor; and one sister, Mona Elliott.
