William “Willie” Roy B. Harjo passed away on Friday, September 20, 2025 in Oklahoma City. He was born on January 10, 1963 in Shawnee, OK to George and Christine B. Harjo. He was raised north of Seminole. Willie attended Varnum schools. He was in the Army National Guard from August 14, 1984 to August 13, 2001. Willie was a cook and did artillery. He worked for the City of Seminole and did maintenance and lawn care. Later he worked as a ranch hand. Willie was an avid Thunder fan. He was a member of Tallahassee Presbyterian Church. Willie was a member of Tvkhvsse Wakokaye Ceremonial Ground.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Sam, Lucy and Wallace.
Willie is survived by his son Austin B. Harjo of Okmulgee; step-son Wayne Carpitcher; siblings Mody and Lisa B. Harjo of Denver, Co, Marsey B. Harjo of Seminole, Nancy Fixico of Seminole, Yogi and Naomi B. Harjo of Del City, OK, Sonya Larney of Denver, CO, Sharon and Mike Proctor of Henryetta, OK; grandson, Mason Carpitcher; granddaughters Layla Carpitcher and Lilly Carpitcher; life-long friend Cindy Harjo and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Those serving as casket bearers will be nephews Tom Harjo, Sammy Harjo, Ryan Smith, J. B. Smith, Kyle Yargee, George Proctor, Kimbo Harjo, Kevin Harjo, Dakotah Proctor, Timothy Proctor and Jeff Fixico. Honorary casket bearers will be Mike Proctor and Mark Quinalty.
Willie will be taken to Hitchitte United Methodist Church at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025 and the wake will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Hitchitee United Methodist Church with Thomas Little officiating.
Interment will follow at B. Harjo Family Cemetery north of Seminole for his final resting place.
