Wayne L King III, Midwest City resident, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 in Midwest City at the age of 71. Wayne was born on February 10, 1954 in Seminole, OK to Wayne L King Jr. and Betty Jean (Pointer) King. He graduated from Seminole High School in 1972 which was also the same year his mother graduated from college. Wayne was immensely proud of sharing graduation accomplishments with her. He married Debbie Sue West on February 10, 1986 in Wewoka, OK. Debbie passed away on January 6, 2022.
Wayne was a hard worker from an early age beginning with his job as a bus boy at the age of 12 at Harvest House and then Dairy Queen. He carried on his work ethic during his years in the oilfield as a treater and supervisor. Wayne worked in auto parts for decades and that included working for every auto parts store and dealership in the Seminole area. However he dedicated a 29 year career to Auto Zone. Wayne was a huge OU, Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed his corvette and motorcycles and Christmas lights.
Wayne is survived by his sons, Lesley King of Seminole, Bradley King and wife, Vickie of Pauls Valley and Shannon Powers and wife, Jana of Yukon; brother, Tim “Doc” King and wife, Sheila of Shawnee, OK; nephew Brandon King and wife, Jodi; niece, Brandi Wells and husband, Jarrod; grandchildren, Logan Powers and wife, Kristalynn of Oklahoma City, Korrigan Powers and husband, Sam McCully of Oklahoma City, Jakob Powers of Oklahoma City, Dalton Powers of Oklahoma City and Boomer Powers of Yukon; great grandchildren, Logan and Landyn and many other family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Debbie Sue King.
Those serving as casket bearers will be Logan Powers, Jakob Powers, Dalton Powers, Boomer Powers, Danny Parks and Art Tuxhorn.
Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK with Bro. Carl Whitfield officiating. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, OK.
