Walter Dunn Williams

Walter Dunn Williams, age 87 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Norman Regional Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23rd at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Visitation will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Walter was born on December 12, 1924 at Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Fred Williams and Ila (Fitzpatrick) Williams.  He graduated in 1942 from Prairie Valley.  Walter was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Suwannee.  He married Marion “Maxine” Finch in Ada, Oklahoma on March 24, 1956.  He was a construction supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone and had worked there for thirty-eight years. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Williams of the home; two sons, Terry Williams of Dallas, Texas, and Gary Williams of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Janet Robertson and husband, Larry of Moore, Oklahoma, and Susan Lankford and husband, Daniel of Konawa, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ila Williams; one daughter, Darla Faye Williams, three brothers and two sisters.
