Vivian Kathleen “Kathy” (Phillips) Nail, age 70 and a resident of Sasakwa, Oklahoma, passed away July 21, 2026 at Heritage Nursing Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Vamoosa Baptist Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Bruce Sanders will officiate, and burial will follow at Cross Roads Cemetery near Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Casket bearers are Clayton Phillips, Kenneth Gattenby, Shawn Streater, Kade Streater, Josh Bronniman, and Craig Lankford. Honorary bearers are Oval and Lee Ann Ward, Cindy Carpenter, Rex and Janice Downey, and Darrell and Nina Elliott. The family will receive guests at the funeral home in Konawa from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Kathy was born January 7, 1956 in Norman, Oklahoma to Vivian Huland “Bill” Phillips and Emozett (Tyler) Phillips. She graduated from Konawa High School and married Charles Wayne Nail January 30, 1976 in Konawa. Kathy was a member of Vamoosa Baptist Church. Kathy loved to cross-stitch and to sew. She also enjoyed cooking, and she was the best cook around. Camping and spending time with her grandkids and her family were another one of her greatest joys. Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who knew the true meaning of love.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Charles Wayne Nail of the home; two sons, Heath Nail of St. Louis, Oklahoma, and Charles “Brett” Nail and wife, Tiffany of Konawa, Oklahoma; one brother, Mitch Phillips of Oklahoma City; one sister, Marsha (Phillips) Bronniman and Tom McLain of Summerville, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Britney Turner, Halee Long, Mason Burris, McKenna Nail, Caden Burris, Dalton Nail, Karsen Nail, and Alyssa Nail; and two great grandsons on the way.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dorfi (Smith) Tyler and John W. Tyler; paternal grandparents, Goldie Mae (Scroggins) Phillips and Hubert N. Phillips; and parents, Emozett and Bill Phillips.
