Tredell Eugene Reed

Tredell Eugene Reed, Shawnee resident,  passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Shawnee, at the age of 81.  Tredell was born on June 16, 1942 in  Earlsboro, Oklahoma to John Thompson and Icie Lee Barkus.  Tredell worked as a packer for Shawnee Flour Milling Company.  He grew up in Boley, OK and lived around the Earlsboro and Shawnee areas.

Tredell enjoyed bike riding, football, working out at the gym at St. Gregorys and weight lifting.  He also enjoyed household work, fishing and swimming.  He was a habitual coffee drinker and being so friendly, he talked to everyone he met.  Tredell never met a stranger.  He was a dedicated father, husband and grandpa to his family.  He spent countless time sharing his skills and his knowledge of his work and trade.  Tredell loved to travel from state to state.

Tredell is survived by his daughters, Ruth Weatherspoon of Shawnee, Alberta Burrows of Shawnee and step-daughter, Norma Wytch of Whitney, Nevada; sister, Elsie Arrington of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Reed, Christopher Reed, Bridget Burrows, Shamar Wytch and Aaron Wytch; 15 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Tredell was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannetta Reed; brother, Solomon Reed; parents; grand grandchildren, Rashad Reed and Matthew Wytch.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Threefold Ministries in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
