Tony Clifford Sanders, age 47 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away at his home on August 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Jaymeson Kennedy and Rev. Heath Sapp will officiate, and burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma. Casket bearers are James Heard, Brian McClure, Dalton Phillips, Tommy Lee, Ronnie Walker, and Tim Fallis. Honorary bears are Steven Gentry, Michael Woodrum, Chris Fallis, Cole Alcorn, Tryton Hatcher, Timothy Sanders, Denim Sanders, Trace Sanders, Dwayne Pierson, Zach Pierson and Jeremiah Pierson. The family will receive guests at the funnel home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm Wednesday evening.
Tony was born December 28, 1977 in Ada, Oklahoma to Noland “Paul” Sanders and Cora Loraine (Cox) Jackson. He graduated from Ada High School and became a 6G welder, and worked many years in the oil and gas industry as a contracted welder. He also enjoyed his time as a journeyman brick layer. At his current employer -Duck Brothers of Konawa, he was the right-hand man and their go to guy. Tony loved to go fishing, working on cars, being around family, and most importantly, loved being a grandpa.
He survived by his parents, Paul and Deana Sanders of Konawa; his daughter, Makenzie Sanders and three grandkids, Ember, Cooper, and Luka of Ada, Oklahoma; his son Austin Smith and grandson Kash of Hugo, Oklahoma; two brothers, Tim Sanders and significant other Diane of Konawa, and Chris Crane of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three sisters, Tresa Alcorn and husband, Cole of Clinton of Tennessee, Kari Gentry and husband, Steven of Konawa, and Amanda Woodrum and husband, Michael of Ravia, Oklahoma; three kids he raised as his own, Tommy Lee, Cassie Vasquez, and Dalton Phillips; and eighteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Jackson and step-father, Tiny Jackson.
