Summer was the season in the birth of Tommie Malone. She took her first breath of life on the 9th day of July, 1951. She was a blessing to the marriage of Elzora and Pete Hamilton.
Tommie was taught at an early age the importance of responsibility, integrity, religion, and education. Embracing these values instilled in her Tommie set out on her mission of life. Tommie’s early childhood education began at Booker T. Washington in Seminole, OK and on to Seminole High School where she graduated. She had a love for the nursing field, music, and singing. She started embracing music and singing in her elementary school years. Tommie took piano lessons at an early age from Mrs. Estelle Alford. After learning how to play she was presented in her first piano recital at Seminole High School. She played for various little singing groups and churches. She joined church at an early age and was baptized at the Ebenezer Baptist Church – Seminole, Ok under the pastoral leadership of Rev. D. L. Gordon. She sang in the Jr Choir. She loved to play softball and became the back catcher for the team named Boberettes.
Tommie began her career with the Department of Human Services where she worked several years in the Rehabilitation Department in Oklahoma City. She made lots of friends during this time that became lifelong friends. After leaving Oklahoma City and moving back to Seminole she became more interested in the nursing field. She studied and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant & Phlebotomist. She would work in various nursing homes along with her daughter until health failed her.
Tommie believed in education and would always encourage all her children to pursue it to the limit. She spent countless hours studying in the nursing field because she always wanted to help people who were ill.
Tommie loved her family, friends and her church. But she had a really deep love for all her grandbabies. If after some of them were grown they could always find refuge with her and her husband Denver. She also loved her church and when health permitted her to go she would drive to Seminole for services and end up playing the piano too.
On the evening of Saturday March 4, 2023, Tommie departed peacefully from time to eternity. Preceding her home going is her father, Pete Hamilton, her mother, Elzora Fry, her daughter Tiffany Malone and one sister, Beverly Wilson.
