Terry Ann (Payne) Birdwell

Terry Ann (Payne) Birdwell, age 71 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away December 16, 2025 at Inspire Specialty Hospital in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Terry was born October 20, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to Donald Payne and Elizabeth June (Brown) Payne. She graduated from Carmel High School in Carmel, California, and proudly served in the United States Army until the birth of her second child. Following her military service, Terry devoted her career to the medical field where she worked as a compassionate caretaker. Terry will be remembered for her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family - qualities that will live on in all who knew her.

Terry is survived by her loving family: brothers, Marty Conrad and his wife, Tina, and Chris Payne; sisters, Donna “Dee” Layton and Barbara Pewtress and her husband, Daniel. She leaves behind her children, Rebecca Birdwell Smith and her wife, Megan of Plano, Texas, Sheenna Donoho and her husband, Ed of Dallas, Texas, John Birdwell, III and his partner, Leanne of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Tara Birdwell of Arlington, Texas.

Terry was a proud grandmother to Donavon Thomas, Danielle Locklin and her husband, Jay, Dustin Thomas and his fiancee, Kaiya, Aubree Donoho, Savannah Hill, Michael Hill, Aiden Buckler, Emma Buckler, Emma Buckler, John “JR” Birdwell, IV, and Amellia Liebel. She was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025 on the family property in Konawa located at 14077 Old Hwy. 99. Entombment service at Dallas National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. Details will be shared once finalized, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
