Sylvester Arbuckle

Sylvester Arbuckle, Seminole resident, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Stroud Regional Medical Center, at the age of 66.  Sylvester was born on March 7, 1955, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Charles and Lula Mae (Holder) Arbuckle.  Sylvester grew up in Seminole.  He served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked as a floor hand for Joe Mills Well Service.

Sylvester married Barbara Sue Kelough.  He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, grilling and cooking, working and spending time with his family.  He loved to play softball every Sunday with his family and friends.  He often attended The Lord’s Community Church in Seminole.

Sylvester is survived by his wife, Barbara Arbuckle;  two sons, George Phillip Arbuckle and Charlie Clark Arbuckle; daughters, Sandra Lynn Arbuckle and Carolyn Corona and fiancé, Oscar Mendez Diaz; brothers, Donald Arbuckle and AJ Arbuckle and wife, Gayle; sisters Annie Marie Beaudion and husband Lloyd and Irene Hedrick; grandchildren, Charlie Arbuckle, Connor Arbuckle, George Arbuckle, Lynnezzee Arbuckle, Dychnee Alene Overbey, Cayley Dee Overbey, Autumn Bays, Maria and Jasmine Ramirez, Oscar Corona, Alicia Nunez Corona, Elena Mendez, Yocelin Mendez-Corona, Cataleya Mendez Corona and numerous other grandchildren; great grandchildren, Logan Lee Roach, Weston Overbey Roach, Owen James Griffin, Paisley Lynn Griffin, Yordan Alpirez Ramirez; mother-in-law, Betty Kelough and a host of other family and friends.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lula Mae Arbuckle; brothers, JD Arbuckle, JB Arbuckle, Earl Arbuckle, Junior Arbuckle, Paulen Price; sister-in-law, Patsy Arbuckle; step-sons Michael Kelough, Raymond Corona Kenneth Corona.

Those serving as casket bearers will be Phillip Arbuckle, Charlie Arbuckle, Devon Arbuckle, Dakota Aird, Sammy Break Jr., Oscar Mendez.  Honorary casket bearers will be Bryson Roach, Chris Harjo and Robert Kelough.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, December 27, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Jeff Nance and Rev. Juanita Moreland officiating.  Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
