Susan Lorrine Warden

Susan Lorrine Warden, Shawnee resident, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in Shawnee at the age of 73. Susan was born on October 20, 1951 in Meeker, OK to Jimmy Neal and Hazel Mae (Mays) Warden. She grew up in Meeker, OK, spent time with family and friends in Seminole, OK and worked and lived in Shawnee, OK. She married Ennis Gene “Russell” Warden on September 22, 1967 in Gainesville, TX. She was an extraordinary cook and used those skills as a head cook at Grove Elementary blessing the staff and students with her amazing meals for over 20 years.

Susan was a devoted member of Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, OK. She was also a member of the Teardrop Camping Club. Susan enjoyed watching soap operas, spending time with her Pomeranian dogs, traveling and camping, reading and cooking. She loved her sisters and family and took great joy in taking care of others.

Susan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russell Warden of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Geoffrey Busk of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Wally Warden; three sisters, Mary Mefferd of Tryon, OK, Rosie Smith of Yukon, OK and Glenna Warden of Yukon, OK; granddaughter, Jenna Busk of Oklahoma City and many other family and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Francis Potter and brother, Neal Warden.

Viewing will be Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, OK with Brent Hoskison officiating. Interment will follow at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks, OK. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
