Steven John Moore, a beloved resident of Maud, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Born on May 14, 1973, in Lawton, Steven was the son of Steven Moore and Kathy (Edmondson) Whitson. He graduated from Mansfield High School in Arkansas with the Class of 1991 and later attended Gordon Cooper, where he became an Electrical Contractor. Known for his incredible smile and infectious laughter, Steven was truly the life of any room. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and was always there to lend a helping hand. Whether fixing something broken or offering support, he was the go-to person for family and friends.
Steven cherished his time outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. His children fondly remember him as not only a devoted father but also a passionate music lover who loved playing guitar and rocking out to Alice in Chains. He could hold a conversation on any topic and was known for his wit and intelligence.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise and Archie Moore, and George and Corena Mae Tiger England; his father, Steven Moore; and his nephew, Trenton Avery Whitson.
Steven is survived by his mother, Kathy Whitson; his son, Houston Moore, of Edmond; his daughter, Stevie Moore, of Edmond; and his grandson, Callahan Mathews, of Edmond. He is also survived by his siblings: Cory Don Moore of Colorado, Bobby Allen Whitson of Maud, Kraig Van Brunt (Allison) of Dale, and Amber Van Brunt of Shawnee, along with many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
There will be a wake service Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with interment following at Little Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
