Seminole resident Stephanie Jude Mixer passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at her home.
Stephanie, the daughter of Paul and Jo Ann (Smith) Baker, was born July 11, 1951, in Ada. After graduating from Seminole High School, with the class of 1969, Stephanie attended East Central University, where she met Harvey Mixer. On February 12, 1971, she and Harvey were married in Ada. Stephanie worked as a coder at SSM Hospital in Shawnee. She was an artist, she enjoyed doing crafts, golf, and gardening. Stephanie loved her family, sci-fi movies, and old movies like The Thin Man. She was always there for her daughter and her grandchildren, for their high school concerts, swim meets and school meetings. She was accepting of all people, regardless of race, religion, or gender. Stephanie was a “Bohemian child”, who loved the Beatles and the Eagles, and the beach was her happy place. She loved humor and animals, and she took pride in being a liberal and giving red state voters hell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jo Ann Baker.
Stephanie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harvey Mixer, of the home; a daughter, Courtney Michelle Mixer, of Shawnee; three grandchildren, Gabriel Gibson, William Gibson, and Kiergan Jude Gibson; two brothers, Robert Baker of Birmingham, AL., and Alan Baker of Owasso, OK.; a sister, Paul Ann Allison, of Seminole, OK.; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, yet to be determined. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
