Stacy Lynn Northcott

Apr 2, 1969 — Oct 9, 2026

Bowlegs, OK

Bowlegs resident Stacy Lynn Northcott, 57, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the place and the life he knew and loved.

Stacy, the son of Bobby and Louetta (Yarbrough) Northcott, was born April 2, 1969, in Odessa, Texas. He lost his mother at a very young age, and when his father later married Richenda Northcott, she lovingly stepped into that role, filling the void in Stacy’s life and becoming the mother he would cherish. Her love and presence became an important part of his life as he grew up in Bowlegs, where he attended school and graduated with the Bowlegs High School Class of 1987.

In 1990, Stacy met the love of his life, Lisa Young, beginning a relationship that would span nearly four decades and become the foundation of a life built together. Their years were filled with family, shared memories, and a deep connection to the ranching lifestyle that had always been such an important part of Stacy’s life.

Ranching was more than a way of life for Stacy; it was part of who he was. From his earliest years, he was drawn to the outdoors and the excitement of rodeo. At just seven years old, he boldly entered himself in the bull riding competition at a local rodeo, beginning a journey that would see him compete in rodeo events, particularly bull riding, for several years. That early determination and fearless spirit reflected the man he would become.

Stacy had a love for the outdoors that never faded. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tracking wild hogs, and spending time in the wide-open country he knew so well. He was even known as the only man in Seminole County to trap a live bear, a story that perfectly captured his adventurous nature and remarkable familiarity with the land and wildlife around him. Whether on the ranch, following a trail, or enjoying the simple pleasures of country life, Stacy was most at home outdoors. He also enjoyed chicken fighting and took pride in the traditions and activities that were part of his way of life.

Above all, Stacy treasured his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and sharing his knowledge of the outdoors, teaching them the things he had learned throughout his life. Those moments offered him the opportunity to pass along not only his skills and interests but also a part of himself. The memories made with his grandchildren and the lessons he shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Stacy will be remembered for his love of ranching, his adventurous spirit, his deep roots in the Bowlegs community, and the life he built with those closest to him. His story lives on through the family he loved, the traditions he carried forward, and the memories that will continue to be shared for generations to come.

Stacy was preceded in death by his mother, Louetta Northcott; his father, Bob Northcott; his grandparents, Margaret Northcott Hardin and Robert Northcott, C.G. and Ruby Yarbrough, and Bland and Irene Coker; his father-in-law, David Young; his nephew, Chance May; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved Lisa Northcott of the home; his sons, Bordan Northcott and Terry Young, and daughter-in-law, Paige Young; his grandchildren, Taylor, Tatum, Terry Ray, and Tinsley; his mother, Richenda Northcott; his sister, Shona Northcott; his brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Robin May; his mother-in-law, Darlene Young; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
