Sharon "Angel" Betty (Friedman) Norton

Sharon "Angel" Betty (Friedman) Norton , age 78 and a longtime resident of Asher, Oklahoma, passed away at Jasmine Estates in Oklahoma City on January 20, 2024.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located West of Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Fr. Joseph Duggempudi will officiate.  Lunch will be provided after the service at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, then burial will follow after lunch at Vista Cemetery.

Sharon, nicknamed "Angel" was born November 17, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to George A. Friedman and Betty Louise (Quinn) Friedman.  She lived in many places during her childhood, as her father was in the military.  After graduating high school in Texas, she met and married Michael Norton, and they had two sons together. They bought property in Asher and she raised their sons there after Michael passed away in 1981.  She always had a smile ready for friends and family.  She loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, camping, putting puzzles together and helping people.  She loved any opportunity to teach a child to do one of her favorite past times! She loved her grandchildren, and she loved animals, especially her beloved puppy, "Precious".  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son, Michael Norton and wife, Karen of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Renee Norton; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Norton II, Tamera Norton, Destiny Hunt, James Norton, and Dylan Norton; one great grandchild, Ahannha Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and so many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Norton; one son, Jeffrey Norton; one brother, Jack Friedman; and her beloved puppy, "Precious".
