Sandra Kay (Rhodes) Sands

Sandra Kay (Rhodes) Sands, Seminole resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at her home, at the age of 75.  Sandra was born on January 3, 1947, in Seminole, to Martin and Pauline (Teague) Rhodes.  She was a homemaker and worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart. Sandra married Bob Sands on December 18, 1964 in Seminole.  Bob preceded her in death on February 22, 2010.

Sandra was a member of Temple of Praise and in her later years attended The Praise Center.  She taught Bible Quiz for 10 years.  She treasured her involvement with the Booster Band children’s choir.  She and her late husband, Bob, enjoyed many years of holding church services at Pioneer Nursing Home.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Robin Dillon of Seminole; brother, Delbert Rhodes and wife, Debbie of Norman; three grandchildren, Angelina Campbell, Daphne Wilson and Charity Dillon; six great grandchildren; special cousin, Robert Dale Stillwell of Norman and many other family and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Martin Rhodes; mother, Pauline Rayburn and husband, Bob Sands.

Casket bearers will be Donald Emmitt, Matthew Owens, Chester Phillips, Kevin Pollard, David Owens and Marshall Wilson. Honorary casket bearers will be Sean Rhodes, Chris Rhodes, Jason Rhodes and Kevin Rhodes.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at noon at The Praise Center in Little, Oklahoma with Rev. Jeff Nance and Pastor Michael Tom officiating.  Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
