Ron Kazuo “Punch” Tara, 55 Ron Kazuo “Punch” Tara long time Seminole resident, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 55. Punch was born October 3, 1959 in San Francisco, California to parents Roy Tara and Emily (Suetani) Tara. Punch lived in Seminole for 40 years, graduating from Seminole High School, and then earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma University. He was of the Buddhist faith and a member of the Jimmie Austin Golf Course. Punch married Vilaiwan Tara on March 17, 1986 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was self-employed operating Nana Clay Flowers and loved going to Craft Shows. He traveled extensively around the world. He lived in Thailand for five years and worked in Paris France and Italy. He also fought a hard battle with cancer. Punch is survived by his wife, Vilaiwan, of the home; parents, Roy Tara of Hawaii, Emily Davis of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sabrina Tara of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Eric Tara and his wife Stephanie of Hawaii; one sister, Taren Taylor and her husband Rod of Shawnee, Oklahoma; nieces, Alexis and Tara Taylor and nephews, Tyler and Dylan. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday June 26, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
