The life of Robert Lee (Bob) Fallis, Sr. is being celebrated following his passing on July 3rd, 2025 in Marble Falls, TX at the age of 94. Bob was born on February 20th, 1931 in Charlotte, AR to James Butler and Velma (Robertson) Fallis and he died peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Graduating from Konawa High School in 1949 where he excelled in athletics as captain of the Tiger football team, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Gena Wilson, and explored the US while building a family. As he ascended the ladder in the corporate insurance industry, he took his family to Midwest City (OK), Oklahoma City (OK), Dallas (TX), San Antonio (TX), Memphis (TN), Milwaukee (WI), Stone Mountain (GA), Albany (GA), Metairie (LA), and Norcross (GA), before deciding to return to his beloved Konawa to help support his hometown, family, and friends. In Konawa, Bob was involved in all aspects of community life and civic service, including membership in the Lions Club, the Konawa School Board, the United Methodist Church, Oklahoma State Board of Realtors, Oklahoma Paint Horse Club, Frontier Paint Horse Club, and the Konawa Round-up Club, as well as membership on the Administrative Board that established the Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center to increase healthcare access in Konawa. Bob and Gena Fallis celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary on October 15th, 2024.
Bob’s dearest passions in life included spending time with his family, playing golf, and raising, training, and competitively showing paint quarter horses. Going on trail rides with the Konawa Round-up Club was one of his favorite activities and he continued to play virtual golf while sitting on his walker at age 94.
Preceding him in death were his brothers James Butler (JB) Fallis, Jr., Paul Fallis, and Harold Fallis, while he is survived by his two sisters Marguerite (Fallis) Dye and Belle (Fallis) Barrett. Bob is also survived by his beloved wife Gena Fallis, sons Robert Fallis, Jr. and his wife Patsy (Marble Falls, TX), Phillip Fallis and his wife Paula (Ada, OK), Drew Fallis and his wife Rochelle (San Antonio, TX), and daughter Jan (Fallis) Brooks and her husband James (Round Rock, TX), in addition to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As Bob described his life and marriage at his 75th Wedding Anniversary celebration, “It’s been a Wonderful Life”, full of exciting experiences, multiple blessings, and amazing people along the way. All surviving family members and friends can take comfort in the words of an unknown poet “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear”.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Konawa, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate, and interment will follow at Konawa Cemetery.
