Richard Arlen Norman

Richard Arlen Norman, age 90, of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Ada.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Bro Andy Quinton will officiate. 

Richard was born January 18, 1934 in Hazel, Oklahoma, to Jesse and Lula (Cole) Norman. He graduated from Maud High School. Richard proudly served in the US Army for five years, including two tours in Korea. He married Marilyn Sue Green July 31, 1978, in Wheeler, Texas, and he worked as a roughneck for oil industry.  

Richard is survived by his wife, Marilyn Norman, of the home; a daughter, Teresa Norman; two grandchildren, Charles Scott Decker and Jesse Ray Mendinghall; two great grandchildren, Nolan Decker and Conlan Decker; and a sister, Yvonne Roe; along with many other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lula Norman; daughter, Kim Decker; brothers, James, Zackie, Bill, and Jeray; and sisters, Eunice, Katherine, Marie, Gloria, Birdie, and Lillie.
