Richard Wayne Lusty, 77, of Oklahoma City, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, in Oklahoma City.
Richard was born May 13, 1948, in Maud to John and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Williams) Lusty. He grew up in Oklahoma City, where he attended Capitol Hill High School. Throughout his life, Richard worked as a welder and mechanic, providing for his family with dedication and skill.
Richard found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing blues music, and spending time at bingo halls and casinos. He loved eating out, playing pool, and sharing laughter with friends. Some of his most cherished moments were spent driving the backroads of Seminole County, visiting and reminiscing with those he held dear.
Above all, Richard will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His warmth, humor, and companionship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lizzie Lusty; his brothers, Floyd, Leonard, and Joney; and his sister, Ethleen.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Wayne Lusty Jr. of Oklahoma City; his daughters, Renee Lancaster of Norman and Rhonda Kaskaske of Vici; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
