Richard Orval Bateman

Seminole resident, Richard Orval Bateman, 80, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Seminole. 

Richard, the son of Lonnie and Mildred (Self) Bateman, was born April 25, 1944, in Maud, Oklahoma. Richard was an Automatic Sprinkler Fitter for many years. On October 5, 1987, he married Vickie Cave-Taylor, in Seminole. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, restoring old trucks, making knives and camping.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Taylor; sister, Shirley Smith; and a brother, Wendell Bateman. 

Richard is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Vickie Bateman, of the home; a son, Rickey Bateman, of Safford, AZ.; two daughters, Heidi Bateman, of Seminole, and Tammy Federico, of Scottsdale, AZ; eight grandchildren; eleven, great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Bateman, and Johnny Bateman; and many other family members and friends. 

No services are scheduled at this time, cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
