Paula Limes

Paula Goss Limes was born in Maud, Oklahoma on October 13, 1931 and died August 5, 2026. She was 94 years old when she died.

She is preceded in death by her husband Barney Joe Limes MD, their oldest son, David Cameron Limes and her parents, Mack and Faye Goss.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gerald and Suzy Freeny of Georgetown, TX and her youngest son, Britton J Limes MD and partner Nikki Carchedi and three children and one grandchild of Stockbridge, MA.

Paula was born in Maud and went to Grade School and High School in Maud. On March 21, 1947 at the age of 15, she married her high-school sweetheart, Barney, and they were married 65 years when he died.

Barney and Paula started college at Oklahoma City University in 1949 because Barney received a football scholarship. She was 16 when she entered college. When OCU dropped their football program, they transferred to the University of Oklahoma. She graduated from OU in 1952 at age 20. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a double major in accounting and economics. She graduated in the top 3% of her class at OU.

Barney had entered OU Medical School so they moved to Oklahoma City where she became controller of Halliburton’s Department Store and later Kerr’s Department Store before leaving to start a family.

In 1960, at age 28, David Cameron was born. Suzy was born in 1962 and Britt in 1964. She was a homemaker for 21 years and then returned to work for Barney as Bookkeeper and Office Manager in 1981.

Barney and Paula attended the Maud Church of Christ when they were young, the Mayfair Church of Christ in Oklahoma City when the children were little, and later The Cathedral of Praise and then Victory Center in Oklahoma City.

Barney and Paula joined the Cathedral of Praise Prison Ministry in 1997, which became the Jesse Bufford Prison Ministry in 2002. They were the coordinators of this ministry, working with Chaplains, scheduling revivals and providing financial support.

In 2010, Barney and Paula moved to Sun City, Georgetown, TX to be near their daughter and son-in-law.

In accordance with Paula’s explicit wishes, there will be no public funeral or memorial services.
